Local farmers and vendors showcased their wares during the Sumter Rotary Club's fourth annual Farm to Table event Thursday, March 16, at the Sumter County Civic Center.
"We were very pleased with the turnout," said Jeanie Crotts, who helped organize the event. "It was better than we anticipated."
She said 1,000 tickets were printed and only 47 were left. Quite a few were sold at the door, though.
"So it was close to 1,000 people," she said.
The Sumter Rotary Club's goal was to raise $20,000 that will go to United Ministries, 4-H, the Warm Heart Fund at Shaw Air Force Base and CART - Coins for Alzheimer's Research.
"My hope is we get close to $20,000 as far as what we donate to the charities," she said.
A farm table donated by Doolallies and raffled off raised $600 as well, she said.
"We were so happy to see many people in our community come out to support these charities, visit with each other and enjoy delicious food as well," she said.
