2013 Sumter County Senior Fitness Games

The Sumter County Recreation Department will be hosting its Annual Senior Fitness Games again this year between April 18th and 26th.  Tuomey Wellness will be on site to conduct free screens for Hypertension, Cholesterol & Diabetes (Wednesday only from 9 to 11 AM) and Blood Pressure (Wednesday and Thursday only from 11am to 2pm.

Activities Include Golf, Bowling, Table Tennis, Horseshoes, Shuffleboard, basketball, Darts and much more. For a full list of Dates and activities please check the documents attached at the end of this page.

It’s nice to live in the South.  You cannot beat the 70’s and 80’s temperatures in May.  Once you endure the pollen season, what a great place to spend time outdoors.

Your County Government is hard at work.  The newest community center, Salterstown, will have its Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting on Monday, May 13, 2013, at 3:30 p.m.  Located on Highway 401 just beyond Highway 378, this new community center will serve the citizens on the east side of Sumter for many years to come.  The new Sheriff’s Office Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting will be Friday, May 24, 2013, at 2:00 p.m.  The transition to this new location on Highway 15 North has been successful on many levels.
