• Council members and County Government tour International Paper's Sumter facility

    Oct 29 2019 Sumter County Government visits International Paper 8

    International Paper opened the doors on Oct. 29, 2019, to its Sumter facility so members of Sumter County Council and County Government could view the workings of an operation that produces 888 tons of paper a day.

    Touring the facility were County Council Chairman James T. McCain Jr., Vice-Chairman Jimmy Byrd, and fellow members of Council Charles Edens and Vivian Fleming-McGhaney.

    Sumter County Administrator Gary Mixon, Assistant Administrator Lorraine Dennis and Clerk to Council Mary Blanding also toured the nearly 300,000-square-foot facility that is situated in Live Oak Industrial Park in Sumter, South Carolina.
