Sumter County Cultural Center
The Sumter County Cultural Center offers Sumter residents a place to experience creative and diverse cultural opportunities. Home to the Sumter Gallery of Art, Sumter Little Theatre, Patriot Hall, Sumter Community Concert Band, Sumter Civic Chorale, and the Sumter Community Jazz Band—the historic building is a unique treasure for our community. People from all backgrounds come together to present plays, experience art, and enjoy shows and performances spanning the spectrum.
Another very essential component of the Cultural Center is the Sumter County Cultural Commission (SCCC). Created by a city/county ordinance in 1974, SCCC is comprised of community volunteers dedicated to promoting the Arts in Sumter by providing financial support, coordinating events, and creating diverse programming.
Patriot Hall
Since it was established in 1986 as an integral part of Sumter County’s Cultural Center, Patriot Hall has been a beloved staple throughout the Sumter community. From community events, graduations, and shows to international symphonies, musicals, and performances, Patriot Hall is the place to showcase #SumterArts and experience #SumterCulture. We welcome nearly 100,000 visitors annually and host a wide array of events. Patriot Hall has several beautiful event spaces for elaborate productions, weddings, celebrations, and business meetings.
