Fantasy of Lights

horseshoeBeginning on December 1st every year at 6 p.m., one of the largest lighted displays in South Carolina will illuminate the world famous Swan Lake Iris Gardens! The Opening Ceremony is celebrating the 25th annual Fantasy of Lights and the 33rd Anniversary of the Floating Christmas Tree! The world famous 150 acre Swan Lake-Iris Gardens will illuminate with more than a million lights and 150 lighted figures!

The Sumter Pilot Club started the floating Christmas tree as a fundraiser for various organizations in need more than twenty-eight years ago. The opening ceremony is a tradition, along with the Fantasy of Lights. The Fantasy of Lights is approaching its twenty first year of celebration!

Santa's Village will open December 7th and will be open every Friday and Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. until Dec. 22.

Part of Sumter's annual Poinsettia Festival, see Santa and enjoy holiday entertainment, refreshments and more! And kids, remember to bring your letters for Santa! The Santa Express will be there to send them straight to the North Pole!

This lighted display is the work of the City Parks and Gardens staff. The employees of the City of Sumter are behind the creativity and magnificent display now known as South Carolinas largest freeAriel the Mermaid display. A MUST SEE!

Sumter is located in the heart of South Carolina. A drive to Sumter is one you'll want to make. Spend the day in beautiful surroundings and view all eight species of swans, one of the only places in the world with all eight together! Then be amazed as the sun goes down and the gardens come alive with breathtaking light displays symbolizing the holiday season as well as seeing some of our favorite cartoon characters!
