Downtown Market

Did you know? The City of Sumter will host a Downtown Market every Saturday!

The event  will be on the corner of Liberty Street and Main Street, right beside Centennial Plaza.

In addition to fresh produce, we will have music, food demonstrations, arts & crafts and more!

The Downtown Market begins May 2 and will run through September 26 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Take your Christmas tree to a “mulch” better place.   Recycle your Christmas tree with the annual “Grinding of the Greens” sponsored by Sumter County Keep America Beautiful, Clemson Extension Service, Sumter County Public Works, and City of Sumter Public Services.

PUBLIC NOTICE: The Sumter County Voter Registration Office will be open for Absentee Voting on Saturday, November 1, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 Noon. We are located at the Sumter County Courthouse 141 N. Main Street Room 114.

We have a budget! New!

On June 12, 2018, Sumter County Council approved the third and final reading for Fiscal Year 2018-2019 Budget Ordinance.  This year’s budget proposal was balanced at $52,752,483 revenues and expenditures with “NO TAX INCREASE.”
